In the main, this is an extended improvised composition performed on solo Oud done as one take. There are two electric guitar overdubs on the last section as well as one oud overdub.



Currents bound inside.

What we’re talking about here
is a resistance.

of assumption?
or,
a zone of orientation?
or
attitude tendencies?

the small ongoing victory
on which great victories
can be built.

(insert machismo empire-speak here)

strong magnets
can create
counter-rotating currents.

Not just me,
but you,
us,
and our possibilities.

copperhead or tinfoil pipe?

All that grouse
is a form of defeatism,
an unseasonable surrender.

excuses
for not really doing much.

(insert right-wing talking point here)

dropping the magnet through the pipe?

Despair
is also a form of contempt,
a way of saying that
We already know all outcomes
and nothing can be done.

When done,
the descent is
observably slower
than when dropped outside.

(insert left-wing hypocrisy here)

differences
are inconsequential?

nothing but
the impossibly perfect is acceptable?

changing magnetic flux
is
a polarity of induced electro
magnetic field.

it produces a current
whose magnetic field
compliments the change
which produces it.

If We're privileged

design is

the magnetic flux

a more complex understanding

When net positive
composition is applied
to a charge it gains momentum.

giving empathy is intelligent.

in the magnetic field

compliment the changing flux

the next highest
resonation station

To be hopeful
implies an uncertainty
about the future.
it means to abide in
a tenderness toward all possibles.

a devotion dedication
to change.
all the way down
to the bell-tower
at the
bottom
of the sky
of our heart.

yet hope implies hazard, danger, risk
fear.

is that also implicated by change?

dropping the electric fan (or radio)
into a pool (or bath)
when it's plugged
into a wall
