The Giver and The Beautiful gift

about

We are all gifts to each other if our consciousness is correctly oriented and at this late stage it might really be a good idea to start living this truth. I know i've been very blessed by people i know as well as don't and never will both in the present and the past, even the past beyond my time on the planet. We all have much more to gain by recognizing and honoring that reality then a view of confrontation, struggle and competition, basically a zero sum game view. We are the only ones who limit what our world can be by our fears and faiths, the meaning of life in my opinion is found like music, in the relationships of individual notes to each other, and between peoples relationships and interactions with each other, what they create together as a service to each other within the whole. The in between spaces allow for the real magic of spirit to sound out truth and love and the inherent kindness of the heart.

This composition was written in 1996 an extremely difficult and trans formative year for me and yet one that would open me to a future i've come to live and love in and to which the gifts of love and beauty are still given and received. That's a pretty good deal.

Playing duo like this with Will is such a pleasure and I'm really happy with the natural patience and development of this piece as well as the many resonant moments throughout, feels like a unity of giving to me.
