about

An arc in finite projective geometry is a set of points which satisfies, in an intuitive way, a feature of curved figures in continuous geometries. Loosely speaking, they are sets of points that are far from "line-like" in a plane or far from "plane-like" in a three-dimensional space.

Sounds intellectual but it's not. We also have the 'arc' of a story, character development, a journey, an event, a love affair, a flight, a life. There is also it's appearance as an arch in architecture. Architecture has been called 'frozen music' and it is literally. What we call harmony and melody define their own arc of expression within sound. This composition expresses an arc of movements within the relationship of it's melody that feels to me like an equal benefit to all. The section of improvised 'architecture' explores that equality creating the quality of the musical arc moving forward to the new beginning bringing a different spirit to the melody's recapitulation.
